The River Dee, Chester – 1907

The above picture was taken from Old Dee Bridge looking down towards The Groves on February 7th 1917. As you can see the River Dee was frozen, something which has not happened since 1963.

Chester Cathedral, Chester

The above picture shows the restoration taking place, which started in 1868. The architect in charge of the project was Sir George Gilbert Scott. The restoration was completed in 1876 and cost £83,000
