Below is a document sent to the Chief Constable containing the “official list” of the bombs which were dropped on Chester during the WWII, These include a total 3 x Para Mines, 44 x H.E Bombs & 344 Incendiary Bombs, which generated over 232 Alerts , for a total duration of 383 hours 22 minutes (click on image to view larger content), summary below
Date: 29th August 1940
- Qty Bombs: Nine Incendiary Bombs dropped
- Location: City Hospital, Station Road & Oulton Place
- Damage: Small fires, non requiring Fire Service
Date: 25th September 1940
- Qty Bombs: One H.E dropped
- Location: Field near Blacon School
- Damage: None
Date: 25th October 1940
- Qty Bombs: Nineteen Incendiary Bombs dropped
- Location: Handbridge Area
- Damage: Slight damage to roof at 22 Allington Place
Date: 18th November 1940
- Qty Bombs: Three H.E Bombs Dropped
- Location: Highfield Road, Blacon
- Damage: Slight damage to some residential property
Date: 28th November 1940
- Qty Bombs: 21 x H.E Bombs, 2 x Para Mines, 168 Incendiary Bomb Dropped
- Location: Various Places With in Chester
- Damage: Gas Works, slightly damaged, 3 house demolished, 15 houses seriously damaged, but not beyond repair.

- Qty Bombs: 1 x H.E Bomb
- Location: Crane Street, Adjacent Gas Works
- Damage: Gas Works, slightly damaged
Date: 7th April 1941
- Qty Bombs: 3 x H.E Bombs, ( 1 x UXB ), 65 Incendiary Bomb Dropped
- Location: Queens Park Area
- Damage: Causality was woman in Seaville Street, injured by a shell, 29 houses seriously damaged, including warden post, 90 houses slightly damaged, electricity supply interrupted
Date: 15th April 1941
- Qty Bombs: 11 x H.E Bombs, 83 Incendiary Bomb Dropped
- Location: Roodee Racecourse
- Damage: Very slight
Date: 22nd October 1941
- Qty Bombs: 4 x H.E Bombs
- Location: Sewage Works, Sealand Road
- Damage: 24″ Main, 36″ Main & 2 x Settling Tanks damaged
Date: 25th October 1941
- Qty Bombs: 1 x Para Mine
- Location: Shropshire Union Canal, Parkgate Road
- Damage: 30 houses damaged, Canal Bridge Damaged, & Telephone wires cut.
